It's 2018 and three cars were set to be unveiled at 2:30 p.m. on the first day of the Tokyo Auto Salon. By 2 p.m. there was already a crowd at the LB stand awaiting the surprise unveil. With the usual fanfare, they took covers off the LC and Aventador. Then it was time for the middle car.
As the covers came off to reveal what appeared to be a black Lamborghini Miura with overfenders, there was a stunned silence. There were a few claps from the back but it was very clear the crowd that had gathered around the Liberty Walk stand were shocked. Here it was, one of the most gorgeous and historically important cars ever made, arguably the first modern supercar, done over in Liberty Walk’s radical styling.
Liberty Walk knew fully well the polarizing reaction this car would have. Social media on the day exploded with comments on this car ranging from confused to downright offended. Yet the purists shouldn't have lost too much sleep over it, after all it was a GT40 replica frame with a very convincing custom Miura body over the top. LBW owner Kato-san doesn’t care what other think, he just wanted a Liberty Walk Miura, and so that's exactly what he built. It’s that kind of thinking that fans and customers of Liberty Walk love about it.
Produced in extremely limited numbers, these 1:18 scale LBW Miura's are likely to be rarer than the real thing! Make no mistake, this is not a toy and is for serious Liberty Walk fans and collectors only.
