That boxer burble, the symmetrical AWD, the WRC legacy; there are many reasons people become Subaru WRX fans especially when it comes to the STI versions. In 1994, Subaru introduced Subaru Tecnica International (STi) versions of the WRX in Japan. These models were upgraded from the standard WRX in many categories, including blueprinted performance-tuned engines, transmissions, and suspensions. The STi versions of the WRX were immensely successful in rallies and also popular among street racers. APR then turned it up a notch further by adding their widebody kit which not only allows wider wheel fitment and grip but also doesn't stray too far from the original body lines of the WRX. To enhance increased traction and stability, APR Performance also added additional aerodynamic components such as a front 3 inch carbon fiber wind splitter with front undertray and rear carbon fiber diffuser. Detachable carbon fiber canards are also utilized for front aerodynamic tuning, while the rear adjustable carbon fiber GTC-300 WRX Spec wing, measuring 67 inches (1,700mm) in width and 12 inches (305mm) in height, aids in rear aerodynamic tuning. Of course, its all finished off in the now iconic APR livery which was seen by JDM fans around the world on their Evo in The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift.
