In 1999 NISMO took their N1 spec R34 GTR to race at the Suzuka 1000km endurance race with Masami Kageyama and Satoshi Motoyama selected to drive.
The specs were built to Super Taikyu regulations for the class it entered in, even though this car didn't compete in the series. The RB26DETT was stroked with an output of almost 500ps and power was delivered through all four wheels. Unfortunately the car's result wasn't spectacular - it ended the race after completing 118 laps and finished in 8th for its class.
After the race, the car was seen by Nissan fans one more time at the 1999 NISMO Festival. Sometime during the 2000’s, NISMO officially put it up for sale with a price of ¥14,500,000 (about $135,000 USD). While that might not seem like a such bargain for most people, we're sure nearly everyone can agree this 1:64 scale model is much more affordable! This R34 combined with the iconic Loctite livery is a great addition for any JDM fan looking to expand their collection!
