What are Takoyaki?

First popularized in Osaka, Takoyaki (たこ焼き) are ball-shaped Japanese snacks made of a wheat flour-based batter and fried in a special molded pan. They are usually filled with diced octopus, and topped with pickled ginger, green onion, and brushed with takoyaki sauce (similar to Worcestershire sauce) and mayonnaise.
